Our aim is very much to offer solicitors and businesses direct access to commercial Counsel. To work where appropriate as sole legal Counsel or indeed as part of a legal team, to help service the legal needs across most if not all commercial practice areas.

This is a significant time in the history of the legal profession and of Chambers. Student Placements

We are also open to applications from students who need to complete a work placement as part of their degree. Preference will be given to law students and / or those from a business and marketing background.

Prequal to A Role As An Advocate | Mini Pupillage and / or Legal Internship

5 Chancery Lane Commercial Barristers is a modern Commercial Barristers’ Chambers operating out of the heart of legal London and London Gatwick, West Sussex. At present we offer a prequal to careers for barristers in the form of mini-pupillages and / or legal Internships. These typically last between 1-12 weeks for suitably qualified candidates. Preference is given to those who are minded to join the legal profession. We are particularly mindful of applications from those traditionally under-represented at the Bar.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity participate in various aspects of legal administration, practice management, as well as seminars other events. Of course, there will also be real exposure of working directly with busy experienced practitioners on active and live cases and so there may participation in case preparation carrying out legal research, attending client conferences and on occasion, court hearings.

The ideal candidate should already have been educated to degree level and may or may not have undertaken the vocational stage of legal training. Whilst experience in a law firm or barristers chambers is not a pre-requisite it will inevitably be a distinct advantage.
